Predictive Discovery Ltd (ASX:PDI) has received more strong gold assays from another four diamond drill holes executed at its Bankan Gold Project in Guinea.
The explorer intersected as much as 20.9 g/t gold during the latest round of step-out and infill drilling at NE Bankan prospect — one of two key gold deposits on the Bankan property.
As exploration continues, Predictive hopes to expand the high-grade gold zone at NE Bankan, where two multi-purpose drill rigs are turning.
In the meantime, regional exploration continues across the 356-square-kilometre Bankan Project, where more than 90% of the property is yet to see a drill rig.
The fresh gold intersections include:
- 20.7 metres at 9.6 g/t gold from 397 metres, including 12 metres at 15.6 g/t from 400 metres, 9 metres at 2 g/t from 421 metres and 2 metres at 20.9 g/t from 490 metres in hole BNERD0093;
- 34 metres at 3.3 g/t from 387 metres, including 9 metres at 8.7 g/t from 391 metres in hole BNERD0094;
- 32 metres at 6.7 g/t from 330 metres, including 15 metres at 11.6 g/t from 332 metres in hole BNERD0095; and
- 34 metres at 5.5 g/t from 265 metres, including 14 metres at 9.8 g/t from 279 metres in hole BNERD0096.
“Remarkable consistency”
Speaking to the results, Predictive managing director Paul Roberts said: “These new results demonstrate the remarkable consistency of the high-grade gold zone which is now poised to extend below the US$1800/ounce optimised pit shell.
“Diamond drilling programs testing this high-grade zone further down-dip have potential to add greatly to our resource inventory, beyond the 3.65-million-ounce gold resource we have recently reported.
“The intercepts in holes BNERD0093 and BNERD0094 also extended the high-grade zone to the south of the previous reported hole at the same depth, BNERD0090.
“Aircore drilling is also continuing across the project area to test structural and geochemical targets, and power auger drilling will recommence once conditions dry out sufficiently.
“Deeper drilling is also expected to recommence at Bankan Creek in the coming months, where there is good potential to grow this important satellite deposit further.“
Diamond drilling campaign
As it works to better understand the Bankan gold camp’s prospectivity, Predictive is conducting exploration over its NE Bankan deposit.
Current drill programs are testing for high-grade gold beneath the deposit’s hanging wall shear zone, where both infill and depth extension drilling is taking place.
Two of the four diamond holes — 93 and 94 — were drilled to the south of a previous 26-metre intersection that returned 7 g/t gold, while the remaining two infill holes were executed in the high-grade gold zone at shallower depths.
Next on the agenda
Diamond drilling continues over the Bankan property, where two multi-purpose drill rigs are in operation.
At present, both are drilling at greater depths — between 400 and 450 metres below surface — to explore for deeper extensions to the high-grade gold zone.
Specifically, the current deepest holes are testing for a possible southerly plunge of the high-grade gold zone as it extends to depth.
In the meantime, results are awaited from a further four diamond drill holes that tested beneath NE Bankan’s US$1,800 optimised pit shell, with the potential to extend the high-grade gold zone further out.
Elsewhere on the Bankan project, aircore drilling is ongoing.
Power auger drilling has been stopped temporarily because of wet ground conditions but will recommence once the ground dries out.
Today's results have driven shares higher in early trading, up 5.41% to A$0.195.
Predictive will continue to keep the market informed of any advances in the Guinean goldfield.
