Renforth Resources reports 130m of continuous visible nickel and zinc on surface at Surimeau project

The program is taking place at the 5km long Victoria West target part of the property, between two holes, which were drilled in a 2.2km long drill program earlier in 2021

Renforth Resources Inc (CSE:RFR, OTCQB:RFHRF) has reported positive findings from an ongoing stripping program at its Surimeau District battery metals project in Quebec, which has exposed 130 metres (m) of continuous visible nickel and zinc mineralization at surface.

The program is taking place at the 5km long Victoria West target part of the property, between two holes, which were drilled in a 2.2km long drill program earlier in 2021.

"Almost all the newly exposed bedrock in the stripped area is ultramafic, hosting low grade nickel and zinc mineralization along the entire strike, with the width of the stripped area averaging 35m in width but reaching up to a maximum of 42m," said Renforth in a stock market statement.

"Mineralization has been observed in numerous places within the stripped area visually, confirmed with the use of a handheld XRF. The strongest and most impressive mineralization, at least visually, is along and within the central deformation structure," the company added.

The stripping program has been paused for ten days to allow local hunters to use the land, but all samples taken before the break have been delivered to a lab.

Notably, the 130m of sulphide bearing bedrock which has so far been exposed represents around 40% of the strike expected to be exposed, said Renforth.

The stripping program, along with channel sampling, will resume next week at Surimeau and is expected to continue until early November this year, it added.

Renforth also holds the Parbec open-pit constrained gold deposit in Malartic Quebec as well as the 260 sq km Surimeau District property.

The latter includes the Victoria West occurrence, Renforth’s current focus, which is interpreted to be a nickel-containing ultramafic unit, juxtaposed with VMS-style copper-zinc mineralization which occurs over around 5km of strike in the western end of the 20km central anomaly at Surimeau.

The company also holds the Malartic West property, the site of a copper/silver discovery, and Nixon-Bartleman, west of Timmins Ontario, with gold present on surface over a strike length of around 500m.
