SRJ Technologies Group PLC (ASX:SRJ) has successfully completed a trial with global industry leader, Keppel FELS, using SRJ’s weld-free coupling product.
Keppel FELS is a Singapore based company regarded as the global leader in the design, construction and repair of mobile offshore platforms.
The trial was undertaken during Q3 of CY21 at Keppel FELS yard in Singapore and composed of familiarisation, installation and pressure retaining performance testing of SRJ’s coupling solution, specifically for 4” pipes that are widely used across multiple industries.
Advantages over traditional pipe connection technologies
Keppel FELS was easily able to install the product without prior welding experience or other specialist skills and reported significant time savings over traditional pipe connection technologies, as well as clear weight and spatial savings over flanged connections.
The standard pressure test revealed no leakage or drop in pressure for the trial duration.
Potential to deploy SRJ technology for Keppel FELS
SRJ is holding ongoing discussions with Keppel FELS, alongside Mitsui & Co. (Australia) Ltd (an existing partner and shareholder of SRJ), to identify the commercial benefits of SRJ coupling and other SRJ technologies across both greenfield and brownfield scenarios.
