Silvercorp Metals Inc (TSX:SVM, AMEX:SVM) has reported positive exploration results from its DCG mine in Henan Province, China, which has extended a known gold vein and uncovered new vein structures.
The DCG mine is one of the firm's six mines, which make up its flagship Ying project, where 207 diamond drill holes were sunk between March 2020 and September 30, 2021.
Assays for 164 holes at DCG have been received, with 110 holes hitting mineralization.
Among the highlights of the work was the extension of the C9 gold vein, which strikes north-northwest, and where only two holes historically have hit the vein.
Silvercorp said that 67 holes were drilled to define the C9 vein along a strike length of approximately 850 metres (m), and over 150m down-dip.

"The vein is still open laterally along strike and at depth. The drilling also intersected additional splay and parallel gold veins," the company said.
Drill highlights at C9 included a 3.57m interval (3.28m true width) at a grade of 7.17 grams per ton (g/t) gold and 15 g/t silver from 81.99m depth at an elevation of 816m.
The work also discovered a new gold vein called C76, which intersects vein C9, the firm said, adding that underground cross-cut works have shown that thick gold zones occur near C9 cutting C76 and C77.
In addition, the miner noted that 51 surface and underground holes were drilled within the resource area at DCG to define six silver-lead-zinc veins. The drilling defined a resource area of around 400m along strike, and 100m down-dip, it said.
Highlights included a 1.02m interval at vein C7 grading 620 g/t silver, 0.90% lead, 0.04% zinc, and 0.09 g/t gold from 205.57m depth at an elevation of 782m in one hole.
In the tunneling program, 4,377m of exploration tunnels were at the DCG mine, with one highlight exposing mineralization, which was 1.18 wide, grading 0.63 g/t gold, 2,427 g/t silver, 2.60% lead, 0.01% zinc, and 7.26% copper within vein C4 at an elevation of 850m.
Exploration drilling and tunneling is currently ongoing at the DCG mine, along with all other Silvercorp mines in the district.
