Recruiter.com Group Inc., a sector leader in on-demand recruiting solutions, said candidate sentiment in its monthly Recruiter Index has increased for the first time since November 2020.
Announcing the results of the index for September, the company said candidates are prioritizing compensation (31%), remote work (28%), work-life balance (22%), and new experiences (16%).
The percentage of hybrid roles increased significantly, up to 42% compared to 26% in August.

Referring to disappointing non-farm payroll numbers, released by the Labor Department last week, Recruiter.com said a consistent increase in backfill roles being filled may explain the overestimation.
The September jobs report revealed that only 194,000 jobs had been added, drastically lower than the 500,000 estimate.
"Last month it was 44% up from 40% the prior month, and now it's 50%. So 50% of the roles that the recruiters are working on are backfill versus new," CEO Evan Sohn explained on CNBC's The Exchange.
Recruiter.com said the “Golden Age of Recruiting” continues as the demand for recruiting professionals increased by 10%.
When recruiters were asked what roles they see the most demand for, it revealed that the top 10 included:
- IT/software engineering: 35% (+4 from August)
- Recruiting/Staffing: 21% (+10 from August)
- Healthcare/Medical: 15% (+1 from August)
- Accounting/auditing: 10% (-2 from August)
- Business services: 10% (-3 from August)
- Logistics: 10% (+5 from August)
- Restaurants/Food and beverage: 10% (+0 from August)
- Financial Services: 8% (+0 from August)
- Pharmaceutical / Biotech: 8% (+2 from August)
- Architecture/engineering: 6% (-4 from August)
"While the actual jobs number for September disappointed the economists, we believe the challenge to adding new jobs is to dramatically increase candidate pipelines and recruiting to account for the increase in backfilling roles as a result of the Great Resignation,” Sohn concluded.
