Redx Pharma PLC said there is encouraging new clinical data from the ongoing trial of its selective ROCK2 inhibitor RXC007, which it will discuss at a virtual R&D day on Monday afternoon alongside the main focus on its RXC004.
Being developed for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, the RXC007 Phase 1 study being carried out in healthy volunteers shows an “excellent” safety and pharmacokinetic profile, the company said, as had been predicted in preclinical data.
There have been no adverse events following single dose of 2-40 milligrams.
“Biologically relevant exposures” have been achieved at higher doses, with 40 milligram showing a half-life of approximately 11 hours, suitable for once-daily dosing.
Redx said a Phase 2 clinical programme for its RXC004 Phase 2 monotherapy programme with in three cancer types to begin before the end of the year, starting with Wnt-ligand dependent tumours.
The company said it is targeting three new Investigational New Drug Applications from its discovery engine by 2025.
Monday’s R&D day features updates from the company's leadership team and presentations from leading experts in the fields of colorectal cancer and fibrosis.
The focus will be on lead product RXC004, a selective Porcupine inhibitor, which is also currently being investigated in a Phase 1 study in combination with the anti-PD-1antibody nivolumab.
