Thor Mining PLC (AIM:THR, OTCQB:THORF, ASX:THR) said a maiden drilling programme has started at the Sterling prospect, part of its Ragged Range gold project in Western Australia.
The 3,000-metre reverse circulation programme will test for gold anomalies with up to 10 soil targets to be drill tested at Sterling, it said.
"After a series of successful and systematic stream and soil programs it is exciting to be commencing our maiden RC [reverse circulation] drilling program at the Sterling prospect,” said managing director Nicole Galloway Warland.
“These are robust geochemical targets in the central portion of the Sterling prospect, within the highly prospective 13km structurally controlled gold anomalous corridor, defined by Thor associated with the mafic-ultramafic contact within the Kelly Greenstone Belt.”
Thor said the drilling programme is anticipated to take between four and six weeks and the results expected from early November.
Last week, the company announced it had defined eight new drill-ready targets at Sterling.
