HC Wainwright initiates coverage on Vyant Bio with 'Buy' recommendation and $5 price target

HC Wainwright's analysts said the company’s value lies in its ability to shorten the drug development timeline from early discovery to investigational new drug filing to two-to-three years

HC Wainwright & Co. has initiated coverage on Vyant Bio (NASDAQ:VYNT) Inc. with a 'Buy' recommendation and $5 price target, which is more than double its current stock price.

The Cherry Hill, New Jersey-based advanced biotechnology drug discovery company's stock currently trades at around $2.35 on the tech-dominated Nasdaq.

Vyant rapidly identifies small and large molecule therapeutics to treat central nervous system (CNS) and oncology-related disorders. The company’s AnalytiX platform, at the intersection of human biology and machine learning, quickly shifts through and analyzes functional data to identify the most promising drug candidates, targets, and biomarkers through a quantified, unbiased rank order approach.

In a report, HC Wainwright's analysts noted that Vyant advances drug candidates from identification of the target to the investigational new drug (IND) stage by “harnessing state-of-the-art science, technology, data analytics, and regulatory expertise.”

Vyant’s value lies in its ability to "de-risk drug development" by establishing translatable biomarkers to drive discovery and de-risk clinical trials quickly and efficiently, they said.

The analysts also shone a light on Vyant's two wholly owned subsidiaries, Stemonix and vivoPharm. They pointed out that Stemonix enables the discovery of new medicines through the convergence of novel human biology and software technologies. It develops and manufactures high-density, at-scale human induced pluripotent stem cell-derived neural and cardiac screening platforms for drug discovery and development.

Vyant has two wholly-owned operating subsidiaries: Stemonix, a company that manufactures and develops high-density, at-scale human-induced pluripotent stem cell-derived neural and cardiac screening platforms,

On the other hand, vivoPharm, a company providing discovery services with its extensive set of anti-tumor referenced data based on predicative xenograft and syngeneic tumor models.
