Bam Bam Resources discovers second oxide copper zone at Majuba Hill

In total, 198.5 meters (651 feet) from seven holes were sampled and submitted to ALS Minerals for copper, silver, gold, and trace element analysis

Bam Bam Resources (CSE:BBR) Corp said it has identified a second copper oxide zone at its Majuba Hill property situated near Reno, Nevada.

The diversified explorer also has reported that an unsampled core has been identified from historic drill holes at the DeSoto Area of the Majuba Hill District.

A recent surface rock chip sampling conducted to evaluate the 2022 magnetic and induced polarization (IP) geophysical results led the company’s geologic team to re-examine the historic DeSoto core and identify the unsampled core intervals.

In total, 198.5 meters (651 feet) from seven holes were sampled and submitted to ALS Minerals for copper, silver, gold, and trace element analysis.

As Bam Bam noted, historic soil sampling has previously outlined a large copper-in-soils anomaly.

The company also highlighted surface rock chip samples that were recently collected from the DeSoto area, including:

  • 2.49% copper (24,900 parts per million (ppm)) and 58.4 grams per ton (g/t) silver;
  • 1.82% copper (18,200 ppm) and 87.1 g/t silver; and
  • 0.36% copper (3560 ppm) and 25.3 g/t silver

David Greenway, president and CEO of Bam Bam, noted that the area has become a “very exciting” development for the firm.

“This zone has oxide and enrichment style copper mineralization that is like our Known Oxide Target Zone,” Greenway said in the statement. “With the close proximity to the Known Oxide Zone and our understanding of the near-surface mineralization, DeSoto has the potential to add more near-surface mineralization to what we have already identified. I look forward to getting the assays from the unsampled core zones."

Additionally, the results from historic drilling at DeSoto disclosed several near-surface copper oxide/enriched (malachite, chalcocite, and chrysocolla) intervals including:

  • MM-18: 105.7 ft (32.3m) @ 0.62% copper (Cu) and 25.16 g/t silver (Ag), from 72 to 177.7 feet (ft) (21.9-54.2m);
  • MM-19: 22.6 ft (6.8m) @ 0.26% Cu and 7.74 g/t Ag, from 2.4 to 25 ft (0.8-7.6m);
  • DSM-02: 25.5 ft (7.8m) @ 0.57% Cu and 28.09 g/t Ag, from 152.5 to 178 ft (46.5-54.3m); and
  • DSM-06: 25 ft (7.6m) @ 0.64% Cu and 34.66 g/t Ag, from 60 to 85 ft (18.3-25.9m)

Last week, Bam Bam told investors it had entered a contract with Boart Longyear to drill at its flagship Majuba Hill porphyry copper project.

The comprehensive exploratory plans include 2468m to 3353m of drilling in 11-15 reverse-circulation holes. The efforts will focus on expanding copper mineralization identified in previous drilling.
