Kodiak Copper Corp said it has added 'Indigenous relations' strategist and 'Social Innovator' Lana Eagle to its board of directors.
The copper porphyry focused explorer noted that Eagle was a pioneer for Aboriginal women and had been one of the first to chair a mineral explorer in Canada, namely Electra Gold Ltd.
A member of the Whitecap Dakota First Nation in Saskatchewan, she is an appointed member of British Columbia's (BC) Indigenous Business and Investment Council and a director on the board of Geoscience BC. Most recently, she was elected to the board of Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada.
In a statement, Claudia Tornquist, CEO of Kodiak told investors: "I am delighted to welcome Lana to Kodiak's Board and am genuinely looking forward to working with her. Lana's impressive background combines business experience with in-depth involvement and thought leadership in Indigenous relations. I have no doubt that she will bring valuable perspectives to Kodiak's Board and help formulate and execute a well-rounded strategy that will truly benefit our shareholders."
