Talon Metals Corp has reported assay results from 13 new drill holes in the CGO East area of the company’s Tamarack nickel-copper-cobalt project in Minnesota, which included 18 meters (m) of mineralization grading 0.7% nickel and 0.4% copper starting at 199.5m depth.
The company said the new drill results show prospective grades and size outside Tamarack’s main resource area.
“This new drilling has demonstrated over 600m of continuous high-grade nickel copper sulphide mineralization, with potential to extend an additional 200m to the north,” Talon Metals vice president of exploration Brian Goldner said in a statement.

“The extent and thickness of high-grade nickel-copper mineralization in the CGO East area has the potential to add significant volume to the current resource estimate at the Tamarack Nickel Project,” Goldner added.
Talon noted the CGO East target stretches over an area of 500m east-west by 900m north-south.
It added that these new assays results, combined with results of historical drill holes in the CGO East area, confirm a continuous strike length of high-grade nickel-copper mineralization of more than 600m long in the north-south direction.
Talon Metals is advancing the giant Tamarack nickel project in Minnesota, to potentially supply the rapidly growing electric vehicle (EV) battery materials market.
The company is one of the only undeveloped nickel projects in the US and could be one of the only options for nickel if EV raw materials are going to be sourced domestically.
