Marks Electrical unveils plans to list on AIM

The group sells, delivers, installs and recycles household electrical products

Marks Electrical Limited has unveiled plans to list on AIM, with admission earmarked for later this month.

The group sells, delivers, installs and recycles household electrical products, such as dishwashers, dryers and TVs, sourced from UK distributors of the brands. It was founded in Leicester in 1987 by its chief executive, Mark Smithson.

In the year to 31 March 2021, revenue climbed 78% to £56mln, while underlying earnings (EBITDA) came in at £7.45mln, at a 13.3% EBITDA margin.

The current year has gone well so far, with interim revenues up 78%.

The firm is planning to boost its digital marketing strategy, investing in brand awareness through advertisements, after expanding into new product categories, including air conditioning, boiling water taps and gaming.

It will also invest in expanding its vehicle fleet and warehouse capacity and increasing the range of finance solutions offered to customers.

Marks Electrical has also appointed Marnie Millard as independent non-executive chair, who will join the board at admission alongside new directors David Wilkinson and Alyson Fadil.
