Nexus Minerals Ltd (ASX:NXM) will accelerate exploration activities at the Crusader – Templar prospect, part of its 100% owned Wallbrook tenement package.
The Nexus Board has agreed to fast-track 30,000 metres of reverse circulation (RC) and 3,000 metres of diamond drilling planned for the December quarter.
The company will use two RC drill rigs and a single diamond drill rig to speed up its progress.
Nexus is exploring for gold deposits on its highly prospective tenement package in the Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia.
Just three weeks ago, it discovered multiple high-grade gold intersections across 13 RC holes at the Templar prospect.
It was this discovery that led the board to ramp up activities.
Drilling across priority targets
The highly prospective Wallbrook Gold Project, spanning 250 square kilometres, is the amalgamation of existing Nexus tenements with others acquired.
It is here where the company will undertake a combination of RC and aircore drilling to be completed across several priority targets in the December quarter.
The addition of a second ground magnetometer survey crew to continue regional coverage of the broader Wallbrook tenement package will also speed up operations.
“These are certainly exciting times for Nexus following the recent high-grade Crusader – Templar discovery.
"The exceptional recent drilling results have precipitated a decision by the board to further ramp up exploration activities at the Crusader-Templar prospect, in addition to maintaining an active regional exploration program across the Wallbrook Project to work up our regional targets,” Nexus managing director Andy Tudor said.
