Versus Systems Inc said it is working with the Canadian Football League’s Edmonton Elks to bring in-venue engagement to fans.
Fans of the Edmonton Elks can now play a custom Canadian version of three-card monte featuring a Tim Hortons (TSX:THI) Timbit hidden under one of three Tim Hortons (TSX:THI) coffee cups. The customized game will be played on the video board at The Brick Field at Commonwealth Stadium.
The Versus’ Filter Fan Cam, which adds face filters to fan shots on the video board at the stadium, will also be in use.

With offices in Vancouver and Los Angeles, Versus is a developer of proprietary in-game prizing and promotions engines that allow publishers, developers, and creators of games, apps, and other interactive media content to offer real-world prizes inside their content.
“Sponsored interactive content is going to be a huge part of how brands connect with fans going forward. Our patented engagement and rewards platform brings fans everywhere closer to the game. We are very excited to work with the Elks on this project and we hope their fans enjoy the games all season long,” Matthew Pierce, Founder and CEO said in a statement.
The Versus offering allows fans to choose from a selection of offered prizes and then complete in-game or in-app challenges to win the prizes. The Versus platform can be integrated into streaming media, TV, mobile, console, and PC games, as well as mobile apps.
The tech company has made several deals with sports teams in the US and Canada in the last few months, bringing the company’s interactive engagement tools to thousands of fans across North America.
