Nextleaf Solutions Ltd announced it was awarded a new US patent covering the design of its cannabis oil refinery.
The cannabis company said that it believes it developed “defendable” intellectual property for the most efficient and scalable methods to produce THC and CBD distillates.
The patent is the Canadian company’s 17th in the US and 90th globally.

Nextleaf's process is a closed-loop, automated extraction and purification cycle that produces and supplies purified CBD and THC distillate ingredients to its wholesale customers.
The firm also distributes Glacial Gold branded vapes and distilled oils, which just received a restocking order from the British Columbia Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB), the province’s sole wholesale distributor of recreational cannabis.
Nextleaf told investors that, for the second consecutive week, the LDB placed a reorder for all seven SKUs of Glacial Gold distilled oils and vapes within days of the previous reorder.
The most recent order was a 300% increase over the initial order from the LDB and is the third purchase order Nextleaf has received since listing Glacial Gold in mid-September.

Vancouver-based Nextleaf produces Glacial Gold distillate through its patented, automated closed-loop, chilled-alcohol extraction plant at Nextleaf Labs, a nationally licensed processing facility in BC. The proprietary technology efficiently transforms Canadian-grown cannabis and hemp into high-purity cannabis distillate at an industrial scale.
