TraceSafe Inc. (CSE:TSF) revealed that it has struck a pair of agreements that will see the company providing its health and safety technology products to two new clients.
The Canadian wearable technology firm has inked deals with the River Oaks Baptist School in Houston, Texas, and Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.
In the first agreement with River Oaks Baptist School, TraceSafe will provide wristband wearables to the school’s more than 1,000 students and staff. The school is hoping to avoid disruptions caused by coronavirus (COVID-19) with TraceSafe’s contact tracing products, which would help to mitigate the need for classroom-wide quarantines in the event of a positive case.

"Our goal is to keep kids in school--safely and responsibly," said associate head of school for operations at River Oaks Baptist School, Paul Mayhew in a statement. "With the new TraceSafe wearable bands, we are able to identify close contacts of a COVID case on campus with more precision and accuracy. That means we are not quarantining students unnecessarily and keeping more kids in school safely."
TraceSafe said that the IoT wristbands deployed at the school are designed for “form as well as function.”
“The small holes in the wristband allow for both adjustable sizing and the addition of badges and decals to add an element of fun for the students,” the company added.
New deal with Royal Caribbean
A similar ethos is present in TraceSafe’s new agreement with Royal Caribbean, the cruise operator.
TraceSafe collaborated with Royal Caribbean to develop custom wearable devices and bands that are equipped with long-lasting batteries and RFID modules. What’s more, Royal Caribbean will be TraceSafe's first major customer to enroll in the company's recycling program that aims at reducing electronic waste by refurbishing used IoT devices and giving them a second life.
"We're proud to be the number one choice in enterprise IoT wearables for cruise lines," said Wayne Lloyd, TraceSafe’s CEO. "This partnership with Royal Caribbean highlights our ability to deliver uncompromising IoT solutions on a massive scale."
Jay Schneider, chief product innovation officer at Royal Caribbean, added that it was TraceSafe’s willingness to develop a custom Tracelet device that met the group’s requirements for style and design that helped cement the partnership.
"We look forward to continuing this engagement with TraceSafe as we explore the many new opportunities for IoT Technology onboard our ships,” Schneider added.
Vancouver-based TraceSafe offers a full suite of real-time location management services and contact tracing solutions enabled through advanced low-power Bluetooth beacons and enterprise cloud management.
