Animoca Brands Corporation Ltd and Blowfish Studios have revealed that Phantom Galaxies, an open world mecha space opera RPG, will launch for most major game consoles and Windows PC in 2022.

Animoca claims Phantom Galaxies will provide a thrilling science fiction adventure defending human colonies on the frontiers of known space.
Participants will pilot a Mechanised Starfighter to defend against incursions of the Sha’Har, the mysterious and warlike civilisation bent on extinguishing humanity for desecrating its hallowed tomb worlds.

Phantom Galaxies is the latest project, capitalising on the explosion of NFTs on the market to marry blockchain and gaming, providing another novel, integrated gaming experience.
While most developers provide users with a licence to play their game, blockchain allows assets used in Phantom Galaxies to be truly ownable, giving the player digital property rights to their possessions within the game. Mechs, equipment, avatars and in-game currency will all exist as NFTs on an energy efficient and scalable blockchain.
