Group Eleven Resources finds high-priority structural corridor northwest of Zone 1 and 2 at Carrickittle Zinc prospect in Ireland

A magnetics survey completed at the Carrickittle zinc prospect in the firm’s PG West project in Ireland, has identified prominent magnetic lineaments, running parallel to massive sulphide bodies

Group Eleven Resources Corp. revealed that a recently completed ground magnetics survey at the Carrickittle zinc prospect in its PG West project in Ireland, has identified “prominent magnetic lineaments” extending from Zone 1 and 2 towards the northwest (NW), parallel to massive sulphide bodies identified through drilling over the last year.

The ground magnetic survey covered 1.4 kilometers (km) by 1.4 km totaling 80 line-km and was conducted over Zones 1 to 4 and extended northwards to the company's Kilteely prospect.

“These lineaments are interpreted to represent a highly prospective fault zone, which forms an immediate and primary target in the upcoming drill campaign,” said the company.

The company highlighted that one of the strongest sets of linears occurs at Zone 1 and 2 and extends to the northwest for at least 1 km, representing a very “exciting drill target” in the upcoming drill campaign.

Group Eleven noted that the orientation of the magnetic linears is parallel to massive sulphide and vein-style mineralization observed in drilling at Zone 1 and 2, and “strongly” corroborates the company's geological interpretation.

In other highlights, survey data also identified several previously unknown circular anomalies suspected of being prospective alteration zones, sub-volcanic intrusions and/or volcanic diatremes.

Group Eleven added that ongoing drilling at Zone 3 and 4 is now complete with four holes totaling 518 meters (m) with assays pending and results expected to be announced in the next several weeks.

The company’s next phase of drilling will test the NW extension at Carrickittle and is fully funded, totaling around 2,000m, and is expected to start over the “next several weeks.”

"We're very pleased that the ground magnetic survey at Carrickittle has significantly enhanced our exploration model of the area and provided a very strong roadmap for our upcoming, fully funded drill campaign along the 1-kilometre-long NW extension," Group Eleven Resources CEO Bart Jaworski said in a statement.

"We have several key targets to test, the most immediate of which is the prominent NW-trending set of magnetic linears extending from Zones 1 and 2. We are also very keen to investigate other prominent linears (not only NW-trending, but also trending NE), suspected diatremes and alteration zones, as well as, several historic holes which intersected up to 61% zinc and lead in massive sulphide up to 1 km away from Zone 1. The start of drilling on the NW extension is coming soon and will be an exciting time for the company."

Fieldwork for the ground magnetic survey was done for the company by BRG Limited from June to July this year. Prior to the survey, the Group Eleven’s understanding of the geology of the NW extension was limited, based largely on government geological maps and limited historic drilling. “With data from the survey, the geological understanding of this area has been dramatically improved,” said the company.
