Kavango Resources strengthens senior commercial and exploration team; updates on operations

Tiyapo (Tipps) Ngwisanyi has been appointed as managing director of Kavango's local operating subsidiary in Botswana

Kavango Resources PLC (LSE:KAV), a Botswana-focused exploration company, hired new senior commercial and exploration personnel and provided an operations update.

It appointed Tiyapo (Tipps) Ngwisanyi, the founding chief executive of the government- owned Botswana Geoscience Institute, as managing director of Kavango Minerals (Pty) Ltd, the company's local operating subsidiary in the country.

The company also hired John Lauderdale as senior consulting geologist and Jeremy Brett as a senior consulting geophysicist.

"Our vision is to build a world-class minerals exploration firm in Botswana,” said chief executive Ben Turney. “These senior appointments are a significant step on our way to achieving this vision.”

“We still have a lot to do to make our first discovery, but it feels like the pieces are falling into place."

In the Kalahari Suture Zone, where it is exploring for copper, nickel and platinum group metals, it announced yesterday that drilling at hole TA2DD002 in Target Area A was expected to reach its targeted depth of 1,000 metres overnight and also updated the geophysical model of Target Area B.
