IQ-AI Ltd (LSE:IQAI, FRA:5Y1, OTCQB:IQAIF) was awarded a European Patent for its ‘dual-echo’ medical imaging technology, adding to its existing patent protection in the United States.
The award was for ‘multiparameter perfusion imaging with leakage correction’.
"This EU patent further extends our leading position in the translation and development of novel MR Imaging technologies in major global markets,” said Michael Schmainda, chief executive of IQ-AI’s Imaging Biometrics subsidiary.
“We look forward to our continued collaboration with Dr Quarles, other collaborators on the grant, and the leading scanner vendors in the industry."
The technology is a combination of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and post-processing, which enhances the imagery and provides additional medical insights.
Dr Charles Quarles is the principal investigator and chair of the Division of Neuroimaging Research at the Barrow Neurological Institute, in Phoenix, Arizona, and his work is funded in part by the National Institutes of Health.
