White Rock Minerals' Woods Point Gold Project unscathed after magnitude 6 earthquake

All personnel are safe and accounted for and no site or structural damage has been detected after a Magnitude 6 earthquake near White Rock's Woods Point Gold Project in Victoria.

White Rock Minerals Ltd (ASX:WRM, OTCQX:WRMCF)’s Woods Point Gold Project in Victoria has emerged unscathed from a magnitude 6 earthquake with no detectable damage and all personnel safe and accounted for.

The project is near the epicentre of the quake that rocked Victoria and other parts of south-eastern Australia and White Rocks is taking precautions to ensure further safety with aftershocks still occurring. It said the shaft and winder remained operational with no immediate signs of damage.

Site management are following Emergency Response protocols and have devised an inspection plan for the site and its underground infrastructure.

There are no plans to return to underground activities until aftershocks have subsided and the site integrity has been checked and inspected to confirm there is no damage.

White Rock’s objectives are achieved via a two-prong approach. Its assets at Mt Carrington in New South Wales are being developed based on exploitation of the site’s near-surface gold-silver mineral resource base, with refurbishment of the existing site and the establishment of a new processing plant ongoing.

Woods Point is a new asset in Victoria, with a large exploration package and a high-grade mine boasting past production of over 800,000 ounces at 26g/t.

The earthquake is not expected to halt activities for long, as no structural or site damage has been noted.
