Mosman Oil and Gas Ltd (AIM:MSMN) said production has continued strongly at its Falcon lease in the USA and workovers should take place at the Duff and Stanley leases now that a rig has been secured.

The combinations of pandemic related staffing issues and higher oil prices have meant a shortage of workover rigs, the company said.

Elsewhere in the US, the site for the Winters 2 well is “ready and waiting” for the scheduled arrival of a rig on 27 September, after the rig operator advised of a delay due to restricted crew availability as a result of Covid issues.

In Australia, geophysical survey data from permit EP-145 has been acquired and processed, following minor delays from travel restrictions.

“This data is currently being interpreted and integrated into the regional basin model with the now expected early in October. Once the report is received, the information will be considered and integrated with the geological model,” Mosman said.

The company noted that drilling has been taking place in the nearby permits by another company, Central Petroleum, which has achieved positive results on the Stairway sandstone, which Mosman said is one of the target zones in EP-145, as well as the sub-salt helium potential.

It added that pandemic-related restrictions may impact the timing of the Work Area Clearance Survey by the Central Land Council, a requirement for the planned seismic survey.
