Century Global Commodities shareholders re-elect management’s candidates as directors

Shareholders voted overwhelmingly at Monday's annual general meeting to re-elect Century Global founder CEO and Chairman Sandy Chim

Century Global Commodities Corporation announced the results of its 2021 Annual General Meeting (AGM), where its shareholders not only set the number of directors at seven, but also overwhelmingly voted for the management’s candidates to put them on the board.

The company which controls some of the largest iron ore resources in Canada, held the AGM on September 20, 2021 in Hong Kong, China.

At the AGM, the shareholders set the size of the board at seven members, elected the Board of Directors and re-appointed PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP as the company’s auditors for the upcoming year.

“All of the nominees served as directors of the company prior to the meeting and were re-elected as directors until the company’s next annual meeting of shareholders,” said the company.

Century Global founder CEO and Chairman Sandy Chim cornered 99.838% of the vote. The other six board members who will be with Chim on the board include Howard Bernier, Hua Bai. Jionghui Wang, Yiyan Chen, Gloria Wong, and Jianlong Yang.

At the meeting, the shareholders also reappointed PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP as auditors for the 2021-2022 financial year.

Century Global owns some of the largest iron ore resources in Canada, totaling some 20 billion tonnes in multiple deposits across five projects in Quebec and Newfoundland and Labrador. This total includes the Joyce Lake Direct Shipping (DSO) Iron Ore Project, Hayot Lake, Full Moon, Black-Bird and the Duncan Lake project.
