Mason Graphite appoints Thomas Swan CEO Harry Swan as board chairman of Black Swan Graphene

Black Swan is a private company jointly owned by Mason Graphite (66.7%) and Thomas Swan & Co Ltd (33.3%) focused on large-scale production and commercialization of patented high-performance low-cost graphene products

Mason Graphite Inc (TSX-V:LLG, OTCQX:MGPHF). has announced the appointment of Harry Swan as board chairman of Black Swan Graphene Inc.

Black Swan Graphene is a private company jointly owned by Mason Graphite (66.7%) and Thomas Swan & Co Ltd (33.3%) that is focused on the large-scale production and commercialization of patented high-performance low-cost graphene products.

Swan is currently the CEO of Thomas Swan and represents the fourth generation of the Swan family to lead the company. He joined Thomas Swan in 2002 in order to launch a new Carbon Nanomaterials business and took over as managing director in 2006 and became CEO in 2018.

In addition to his responsibilities at Thomas Swan, he is the chairman of the board of trustees of the Society of Chemical Industry, a council member of the Chemical Industries Association, and a founding member of the UK Chemistry Council. He also chairs the advisory board of the Centre for Education Collaboration at York University.

“I am honored to take on the role of chairman of the board and couldn’t be more excited about the future of Black Swan Graphene,” Swan said in a statement.

“I am committed to its success as we will deploy the expertise and support of Thomas Swan throughout the development of the company’s strategy to commercialize and produce large scale, low cost, and high-performance graphene in industrial applications. We look forward to work in partnership with Mason Graphite in order to establish a fully integrated supply chain.”

Meanwhile, Mason Graphite also announced the grant of 400,000 stock options to François Perron, director of the company.

Each option will entitle Perron to purchase one common share of Mason Graphite at $0.51 each for a period of five years from the date of grant. One-third of the options vested upon their grant, one-third will vest on the first anniversary of their grant, and the remainder will vest on the second anniversary of the grant. The option grant is subject to regulatory approval, including the approval of the TSX Venture Exchange.
