By the time midday hit today, the S&P/ASX 200 was already down 1.6%. This is its worst day since a 1.9% drop a couple of weeks ago,
The S&P/ASX200 dropped 118.10 points to 7,285.60 and crossed below its 50-day moving average. The bottom performing stocks at time of writing were Champion Iron Ltd (ASX:CIA) down 11.94% and Lynas Rare Earths Ltd down 8.75%.
The index has lost 1.88% for the last five days, but sits 4.55% below its 52-week high.
On the small cap front
Some of the biggest movers today have been Culpeo Minerals Ltd (ASX:CPO) up 41.18%, Hannans Ltd (ASX:HNR) up 36.36% and Resource Mining Corporation Limited (ASX:RMI) up 33.33%.
Infinity Lithium Corporation Ltd (ASX:INF, FRA:3PM) is up 8.70% after producing battery-grade lithium chemicals during metallurgical test-work on material from the San José Lithium Project in Spain.
Zelira Therapeutics Ltd (ASX:ZLD, OTCQB:ZLDAF) is up 10.81% on the back of its announcement that it has expanded into Europe via the large and growing German cannabinoid-based medicines market.
