West Wits Mining Limited (ASX:WWI)’s application to begin the process of obtaining a new prospecting right at its Witwatersrand Basin Project (WBP) in South Africa has now been formally accepted by the Department of Mineral Resources & Energy (DMRE).
WWI’s next steps include the submission of an environmental management plan, as well as a prospecting works plan to the DMRE as part of the standard application process.
West Wits anticipates that subject to the granting of the new prospecting right, a significant portion of the old resource which was restated to reflect the smaller surface, would be re-introduced into the current global mineral resource estimate of 3.55 million ounces at 4.26 g/t gold.
