Condor Gold appoints senior mining engineer ahead of La India feasibility study

He will be involved in all aspects of mining engineering studies for a forthcoming feasibility study and final designs ahead of the construction of a processing plant and associated infrastructure using the recently acquired semiautogenenuo

Condor Gold PLC (AIM:CNR, TSX:COG, FRA:W5XA, OTC:CNDGF) appointed Jair Diaz Navarro as a senior mining engineer to work at its fully permitted La India project in Nicaragua.

Diaz is a mining engineer with over 10 years' experience in mine planning and operation. His has worked at Barrick Gold's Cortez mine, Gran Colombia Gold's Segovia underground operations and for OceanaGold Corporation (TSX:OGC) at is Haile Mine.

Mark Child, chairman and chief executive of Condor, said Condor is building a team to take the La India project through to gold production.

“Mr Diaz has extensive experience of working in operating mines and, until recently, was the long range mine planner at OceanaGold's Haile Mine in South Carolina.

“Mr Diaz will be involved in all aspects of mining engineering studies for a forthcoming feasibility study and final designs ahead of the construction of a processing plant and associated infrastructure using the recently acquired SAG mill, which is estimated to produce approximately 100,000 oz gold per annum. His focus will be on optimising mine schedules to maximise the project's economics.”

A technical study on La India earlier this month confirmed the viability of two possible routes to production, with a net present value (NPV) for a dual operation estimated at US$418mln with a mine life of nine years at a production rate of 150,000 oz of gold annually.
