Goldseek Resources Inc said it has added base metal potential to its Beschefer gold project in Quebec after sampling 500 meters (m) of previously unsampled drill core from six holes.
Through the work, Goldseek said it had found large intercepts of low-grade copper, with highlighted results including 0.04% copper over 106.5m, including 0.07% copper over 43.5m.
The company said 276 samples were taken and assayed for gold and base metals. Sporadic low-grade gold values of between 0.05 and 0.17 grams per ton (g/t) were also obtained.

Goldseek said this "low-grade" copper discovery added base metal potential to a gold system currently being drilled with a 5,000m program.
"The company is reviewing the possibility of extending the sampling and reviewing the volcanic stratigraphic and alteration pattern to better understand the copper mineralization context in terms of 3D geometry and mineralization controls. The majority of historical drilling was not assayed for base metals; therefore, the base metal potential across the various gold zones is still to be determined," Goldseek said in the statement.
The Beschefer project lies around 30 kilometers southwest of Wallbridge’s Fenelon Gold property and in March this year, Goldseek struck an option deal to earn all of the asset over four years from Wallbridge Mining Company.
The property straddles a regional volcanic contact inside the Brouillan-Fenelon volcanic formation hosting the Beschefer gold zone and an associated intrusion system.
