Greatland Gold says high-grade gold and copper found outside Havieron deposit initial resource area

Exploration activities at Havieron are operated by Newcrest Mining Ltd under a joint venture agreement with Greatland

Greatland Gold PLC (AIM:GGP, OTC:GRLGF, FRA:G8G) said high-grade gold and copper was found outside the initial resource area of the Havieron deposit in Western Australia.

New results from the Growth Drilling programme under the Crescent Sulphide Zone and around the Northern Breccia continue to support the potential for resource expansion, it said.

One drill hole, HAD133W1, within the South East Crescent reported 133 metres at 7.0 grams a tonne (g/t) gold and 0.05% copper from a depth of 1,446 metres and included a 55.9 metre section at 9.7g/t gold. This intercept constituted one of the top four intercepts from Havieron.

All 12 new drill holes intersected mineralisation, with six holes returning significant assay intercepts greater than 100-gram metres of gold.

“The Growth Drilling campaign at Havieron continues to deliver excellent results with significant intercepts of high-grade gold and copper outside the existing resource shell,” said chief executive Shaun Day.

“These assay results have once again extended known mineralisation below the main South East Crescent zone and to the north-west in the Northern Breccia, adding further scale and value to the Havieron orebody.

“With nearly 200,000 metres of drilling now completed, including extensive growth drilling in recent months, we have significantly enhanced our understanding of the orebody and the likelihood of delivering an upgrade to the mineral resource estimate in the near-term.

“Early works for the mine development are progressing to plan with the decline now advanced to over 120 metres from the Portal towards the top of the orebody.”

Exploration activities at Havieron are operated by Newcrest Mining Ltd under a joint venture agreement with Greatland.
