Cenkos Securities PLC (AIM:CNKS) enjoyed a strong start to the year, buoyed by robust corporate finance activity with momentum continuing into the second half.
The institutional stockbroking firm helped 16 clients raise £580mln in the six months to June 30, £400mln of which came from AIM.
Since the period-end, it has completed two IPOs and a further eight fundraisers.
Corporate finance income grew 38% over the half to £12.7mln, representing just under 70% of Cenkos’ total revenues of £18.2mln.
The company’s net trading gain was £2.4mln, up 199%.
Underlying profit jumped 44% to £2.8mln, while the dividend rose 25% to 1.25p a share. Since 2006 it has returned £116.4mln, or the equivalent of 180.8p a share.
Looking ahead, Cenkos said: “We see reasons for optimism for the remainder of 2021 and beyond.”
