Adyton Resources reveals initial high-grade gold results from its Wapolu deposit in Papua New Guinea

Drill results from the Wapolu deposit included 26 metres of 1.79 grams per tonne gold

Adyton Resources (TSX-V:ADY, OTCQB:ADYRF) Corporation has reported initial drill results from the company’s 100% owned Wapolu deposit on Fergusson Island in Papua New Guinea, which included 26 metres of 1.79 grams per tonne (g/t) gold.

Adyton said the maiden drill program’s objective is to confirm results of previous drilling carried out in the 1990s by twinning previously drilled holes, test continuity and confidence of the mineralised zone, and to provide samples for a preliminary metallurgical testing program.

“The Wapolu drilling results continues the recent success achieved at Gameta. Adyton owns 100% of three deposits on Fergusson Island and it is clear the project has production scalability,” Adyton Resources (TSX-V:ADY, OTCQB:ADYRF) CEO Frank Terranova said in a statement.

“Based on the combined Fergusson Island results, I see no reason to delay heading straight to a Preliminary Economic Assessment stage once the Resource update at Gameta is announced as well as accelerating phase two drilling and technical work programs,” Terranova added.

The company noted the current five-hole, 320.9 metre program exceeded historical drilling results and when combined with the results of the drilling program at Gameta, the Wapolu results further enhance the development potential of the Fergusson Island deposits.

Adyton added that promising drill targets identified to the south of the existing resource envelope will be followed up together with “high-quality” targets identified at the Gameta deposit in the next phase of drilling on Fergusson Island.

The Wapolu deposit is located about 30 kilometres from the Gameta deposit.

Adyton Resources (TSX-V:ADY, OTCQB:ADYRF) is focused on the development of gold and copper resources with its portfolio of highly prospective mineral exploration projects in Papua New Guinea. The Brisbane, Australia-based company’s projects are located on the Pacific Ring of Fire, which hosts several world class copper and gold deposits.
