C3 Metals encouraged as it hits shallow high-grade copper and gold at Jasperoide project

The assays hail from five holes at the Montana de Cobre prospect and were sunk on section JAS2700

C3 Metals Inc has reported more positive drill results from its flagship Jasperoide copper-gold project in Peru, further suggesting the presence of a copper-gold porphyry system.

The assays hail from five holes at the Montana de Cobre prospect and were sunk on section JAS2700, which sits 50 metres (m) north of high-grade copper-gold mineralization reported previously from another section.

C3 Metals said mineralization at JAS2700 was "pervasive and laterally extensive for over 500 metres", remaining open in multiple directions and to depth.

In all, 32 drill holes have been completed to date and copper mineralization has been found in all of them, noted the firm.

"We are very encouraged by the broad extent and continuity of the shallow high-grade copper and gold mineralization being intersected at Jasperoide," said Kevin Tomlinson, CEO of C3 Metals.

Tomlinson also highlighted that primary copper sulphides were intersected below the oxide zone in one hole, and high-sulphidation feeder structures hosting gold and silver mineralization were confirmed.

"These important observations combined with other geological vectors strongly suggest a well-developed concealed copper-gold porphyry system is driving the extensive mineralized skarn development we are currently drilling," said the company boss.

C3 noted it had recently flown airborne magnetics over its entire tenement holdings, which was followed by ground IP surveys on key target areas.

Drilling is now progressing at a high priority geophysical target at the Cresta Verde prospect, which lies 1.8km to the north of where three holes were recently completed at Montaña de Cobre.

"C3 Metals' geologists in Peru are excited by initial drill observations, reporting significant intervals of pervasive skarn alteration with visible copper sulphide mineralization," said Tomlinson on this work.

"This drill hole proves the company's exploration strategy is working and we look forward to drill testing multiple other high priority coincident geophysical anomalies and geochemical targets," he added.

Highlight assays from JAS2700 section include 235.18 metres (m) at 0.67% copper and 0.34 grams per ton (g/t) gold from 21.5m, including an intercept of 100.4m at 0.84% copper and 0.32 g/t gold from 64.4m in one hole.

Another hole showed 87.30m at 0.97% copper and 0.35 g/t gold from 21.30m, including 24.8m at a grade of 2% copper and 0.61 g/t gold from 83.8m.

Assay results are pending for a further 15 drill holes.
