Serco Group (LSE:SRP) PLC received £316mln for work on the Government‘s NHS Test & Trace programme in 2020, the government confirmed in response to a question from Labour MP Jon Trickett.

In 2021 so far, the amount has risen to £387mln, said Jo Churchill, the health minister, and a number that corresponds with Serco’s own announcements.

In June, the FTSE 250 group said revenues from Test & Trace would be around £340mln in the first half of 2021 out of a total turnover of £2.2bn.

In the recent trading update, Serco said underlying half-year profits to the end of June would be 50% higher than a year ago at between £120mln-125mln, though the company added it expected a reduced Covid-19 work contribution in the second half.

Serco said that it was “proud to be involved in the Test and Trace programme”.

The Department of Health said: “Partnerships between the public and private sector have been vital to our efforts to combating this virus.”
