Cobra Resources Plc (LSE:COBR) (LSE:COBR) said a reverse circulation (RC) drilling programme is due to start around mid-October at the Wudinna gold project in South Australia.

It has appointed Bullion Drilling Pty Ltd to carry out the 4,000-metre drilling programme.

"Engaging a highly experienced drilling contractor such as Bullion Drilling within the current competitive market is an excellent result for Cobra,” said Cobra chief executive Rupert Verco.

“Bullion Drilling's track record gives us confidence that we can deliver results on our priority targets safely, timely and cost effectively.”

The gold exploration company said gravity surveying will shortly be undertaken to detail three magnetic and geochemically anomalous features considered prospective for the discovery of Iron Oxide Copper Gold (IOCG) mineralisation.

The Wudinna project is located in the Gawler Craton, home to some of the largest IOCG discoveries in Australia, including BHP Group PLC (LSE:BHP)’s Olympic Dam.
