Sanatana Resources commences exploration of the Oweegee Dome copper and gold project in British Columbia

The Oweegee Dome project which is under option from ArcWest Exploration is located roughly 45 km east of Seabridge Gold’s KSM-Iron Cap porphyry copper-gold deposits

Sanatana Resources Inc said it has launched its exploration of the Oweegee Dome copper-gold project within the renowned "Golden Triangle" region of northwest British Columbia.

The Oweegee Dome project which is under option from ArcWest Exploration is located roughly 45 kilometres (km) east of Seabridge Gold’s KSM-Iron Cap porphyry copper-gold deposits; as well as Tudor Gold's Treaty Creek project, which reported a measured and indicated resource estimate of 17 million ounces gold and 93 million ounces silver.

"Sanatana is both excited to initiate exploration at the Oweegee Dome project and to be working with Tyler Ruks and Jeff Kyba and their team at ArcWest Exploration,” Peter Miles, CEO of Santana said in a statement.

Miles went on to say, “Oweegee is an underexplored copper gold porphyry system lying within a region that is a proven host for exceptional copper-gold deposits. These include Newcrest Mining-Imperial Metals' jointly owned Red Chris mine and Newmont Corporation's Saddle North project, which was recently acquired from GT Gold in a $393 million transaction."

Work at Oweegee began in mid-August when Sanatana mobilized a field crew to the Bell 2 camp, approximately 25 km north of the Oweegee Dome project.

According to the company, the property hosts multiple copper/gold occurrences some associated with porphyry dykes and intrusives that occur over a 20km2 area and have received limited previous exploration.

Santana’s 2021 Oweegee Dome exploration will target the more developed highly gossanous Delta prospect and peripheral areas.

The Delta prospect is comprised of three zones separated mainly by geography, and dubbed Delta, Snowpatch and Malloy. The Vancouver-based company reports that alteration is noted throughout the Delta prospect and is dominated by QSP (quartz, sericite pyrite), clay-pyrite alteration and phyllic-style alteration.

Historical shallow drilling of the Delta prospect focused on a copper-in-soil anomaly at an easily accessible ridge with an Eskay Creek target in mind. While, recent mapping progressed from the east to the west of the Delta prospect and revealed numerous outcrops of previously unrecognized diorite and diorite breccias.

Sanatana has also commissioned an IP survey of the Delta prospect by Dias Geophysics and is conducting ground mapping and sampling in order to best locate drill collar locations. Reconnaissance mapping and sampling of additional porphyry copper-gold targets throughout the 31,077-hectare Oweegee Dome project is also ongoing.
