Thor Mining returns further significant copper and gold intercepts at Alford East

Thor has a long track record of exploration work in Australia

Thor Mining PLC (AIM:THR, FRA:T5MC, OTCQB:THORF, ASX:THR) has hit further significant copper and gold intercepts in the recently completed initial diamond drilling programme at the Alford East copper gold project in Australia.

The results include 72.7 metres at 1% copper and 0.19 grams per tonne from a depth of 6.3 metres.

Remaining assays are expected over the coming weeks.

The results, said Nicole Galloway Warland, managing director of Thor Mining, take the oxide mineralised system at Alford East “to a new level”.

“The confirmed uplift in copper and gold grades along the controlling NNE structure continues to excite and exceed the directors of Thor expectations,” she said.

“We look forward to testing this structure in areas open along strike, to the north and south. Pump testing scheduled for start of September will further advance the in-situ recovery 'proof of concept' hydrometallurgical assessment."

Thor is earning up to an 80% interest in Alford East from unlisted Australian explorer Spencer Metals Pty Ltd.

The Alford East Project covers the northern extension the Alford Copper Belt, located on the Yorke Peninsula, Southern Australia. It is already known to contain 177,000 tonnes of copper and 71,500 ounces of gold.
