Golden Tag Resources says new 3D model on its San Diego project showcases broad zones of skarn mineralization

Golden Tag said that the 3D model illustrates that the mineralization is open to the north and at depth, as well as to the northwest and southeast of the currently modelled Fernandez Zone

Golden Tag Resources Ltd said it has wrapped up a geological interpretation program on its San Diego project in Mexico that highlights broad zones of skarn mineralization open to the north and at depth.

The program was conducted in conjunction with Orix Geoscience, which reviewed existing datasets and developed a 3D geological model that incorporated results from the 2021 exploration program on the property.

In a statement, Toronto-based Golden Tag said that the 3D model “clearly illustrates that broad zones of skarn mineralization are open to the north and at depth within the diorite and marble, as well as to the northwest and southeast of the currently modelled Fernandez Zone.”

Golden Tag’s CEO Greg McKenzie said that the company was pleased with the results of Orix’s work.

“Having an independent team of highly qualified geologists review, validate and enhance our geological model has been beneficial for our plans going forward. The new understanding of the broad zones of skarn style mineralization should prove instrumental in planning future drill targets.”

Golden Tag holds a 100% interest, subject to a 2% Net Smelter Return (NSR), in the San Diego project, which is located in the state of Durango.

San Diego is among the largest undeveloped silver assets in Mexico and is located within the prolific Velardeña mining district, which hosts several operating mines that have produced silver, zinc, lead and gold for over 100 years.
