Phunware Inc (NASDAQ:PHUN) announced that it is partnering with identity security firm HID Global to offer its Smart Workplace Solutions to customers using HID’s access control solutions.
HID develops ID cards, authentication technologies and cloud-based physical access control solutions such as its Origo technology.
Phunware said HID initially plans to integrate the company’s Smart Workplace Solution with Origo to create a comprehensive offering as organizations start to eye a return to the office.

Phunware’s Smart Workplace Solution provides users with contactless digital access, employee directories, check-in instructions, safety prescreening, company information and resources and notifications.

HID’s director of strategic alliances Matt Bennett said that the firm was “delighted” to offer a comprehensive mobile solution for a tech-enabled employee experience.
“We are confident that integrating Phunware’s Smart Workplace Solution with HID Origo will increase employee engagement, reduce the number of employee applications our customers must maintain and simplify each employee’s daily experience,” Bennett added.
