Benchmark Metals Inc has completed over 31,000 meters of drilling as part of its ongoing resource expansion program at the company’s flagship Lawyers gold-silver project in British Columbia.
To date, Benchmark has had five drill rigs operating on-site with plans to add an additional drill rig in the near-term.
The ongoing program has advanced new target areas with geophysics, soil and rock sampling, and mapping. Positive assays from rock grab samples were 16.4 grams per tonne (g/t) gold equivalent at Silver Creek and 34.4 g/t gold equivalent in the Silver Pond West zones.

"The company is on track to complete over 100,000 meters of total drilling during the 2021 program. The drilling will significantly expand the total gold-silver ounces in an updated Mineral Resource Estimate for 2022,” John Williamson, CEO of Benchmark, said in the statement.
“The regional exploration program is outlining large new target areas and the drilling at the Marmot Zone, located 3 kilometers south of the main deposits, is showing potential to become a satellite deposit hosting significant gold-silver ounces."
Ground-based induced polarization has also been completed in the Silver Pond and Marmot areas in addition to Cliff Creek South, Dukes Ridges and AGB south. Ground magnetics/VLF was also been conducted over the Silver Pond, LaLa, Giffords Edge, Marmot Lake, AGB north, Pipe Dream, and Black Lake zones, in addition to the targeted resource areas.
