Tambourah Metals prepares for September drilling at flagship gold project in Pilbara

The company listed on the ASX on August 12 raising $8 million in an oversubscribed initial public offering and is now preparing for drilling next month.

Tambourah Metals Ltd (ASX:TMB) has field reconnaissance and logistics planning underway at its flagship Tambourah Gold Project in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, with a geological team set to arrive at the site later this week.

The team will be inspecting proposed targets and drilling locations ahead of proposed drilling in September.

A planned 1,500-metre reverse circulation (RC) program is designed to test additional mineralisation along the Western Chief section of the Tambourah Project, with a view to further extend known mineralisation.

Expanding on 2019 drilling

In an interview with Proactive's Andrew Scott, executive chairperson Rita Brooks said the Tambourah Gold Project was last drilled in 1990 before the company acquired the ground, developed it and drilled holes in 2019.

“This is our lead project and we want to expand on the drilling completed in 2019, which returned up to 39 metres at 21 g/t in the Western Chief Mine prospect."

The Tambourah project lies along a mineralised greenstone belt, nearby to gold projects and operating gold mines.

While on-site the geological team will also:

  • Conduct a geological review of historical dredging claims on the tenement which the company believes were mined for tin-tantalum; and
  • Begin geochemical exploration including rock-chip sampling for mineral system modelling.

Tambourah is at the centre of a rich gold area within the Pilbara region.

Brooks said: “We have a substantial drilling program planned to commence upon the granting of service contracts, which we anticipate in the coming few weeks.

"The drill hole plans are being finalised and we are looking forward to following up the 2019 program.

"There are several more targets defined with 3D modelling of nearby drilling information.”

Nickel-PGE exploration at Julimar North

Tambourah Metals also has two granted exploration licences and two applications at Julimar North, northeast of Perth.

At Bolgart East and Tolarno, the company has started work on access agreements and site reconnaissance. Contracts for geophysical surveys are being reviewed.

The ASX-lister is progressing the grant of the Mogumber and Yerecoin exploration licence applications and heritage agreements have been signed.
