Alto Metals Ltd (ASX:AME)’s Lord Henry pit within the Sandstone Gold Project has delivered assays of up to 8 metres at 13.6 g/t gold from 56 metres, highlighting the nature of the shallow dipping, multiple stacked lodes of gold mineralisation beneath the historic pit.
The reverse circulation (RC) resource definition drilling program for eight holes and 1,282 metres is targeting down-dip extensions of mineralisation to the north, strike extensions to the west and further potential stacked lodes at depth.
Resource and extensional drilling below and to the west of Lord Henry has returned 4 metres at 15.6 g/t gold from surface; 4 metres at 2.1 g/t from 12 metres; 20 metres at 1.3 g/t from 40 metres including 8 metres at 2 g/t from 44 metres; and 4 metres at 6 g/t from 80 metres.
Assays are currently pending for 16 diamond holes and more than 120 RC holes from Lord Henry, Lord Nelson, Vanguard and Indomitable.
The current diamond drilling program has been completed and RC drilling is ongoing at Vanguard.
Resource update scheduled
Alto managing director Matthew Bowles said: “We re-commenced a major drilling program at the start of the year and the results received to date clearly demonstrate there is lot more gold to be found at Sandstone.
“With RC drilling continuing, investors can look forward to further results as we wait for assays from 16 diamond holes and over 120 RC holes, in addition to an updated mineral resource estimate later in the year, subject to final assays.”
Other results include 36 metres at 1.9 g/t from 8 metres, 4 metres at 4.5 g/t from 88 metres, 4 metres at 1.9 g/t from 76 metres, 4 metres at 1.1 g/t from 12 metres and 4 metres at 1.6 g/t from 64 metres.
The current mineral resource at Lord Henry is 69,000 ounces of gold (65,000 ounces indicated and 4,000 ounces inferred) with these latest results highlighting the likelihood for resource growth.
Next steps
Alto anticipates to start receiving results from the remaining 16 diamond holes in the next four to six weeks with RC drilling ongoing.
As the company is continuing to experience delays in assay turnaround time, RC drilling has been reduced to one rig to allow time for receipt of a number of pending assays.
