SRJ Technologies wins BoltEx contract for Al Shaheen Field offshore Qatar

The company is engaging with a wide range of oil and gas processing facilities owned by Qatar Petroleum – one of the world’s largest producers of gas and LNG.

SRJ Technologies Group PLC (ASX:SRJ) has secured a contract to supply BoltEx inventory initially for use in flange hot bolting campaigns for facilities at the Al Shaheen Oil Field offshore Qatar.

The company, in conjunction with one of its local partners EnerMech, has been awarded this contract by SEMBCORP to deliver flange management services which include a number of hot-bolting scopes using SRJ’s BoltEx.

SRJ was awarded its first contract offshore Qatar for a pre-shutdown bolting campaign.

The company believes this contract will be a demonstration of how BoltEx can be used to reduce the work hence reduces the cost and downtime of shutdowns.

“Superior technology and agile customer service”

SRJ managing director (EMEA) Roger Smith said: “Demand for hot bolting to rectify flange integrity anomalies is growing as facilities operators and contractors face severe cost and schedule challenges of maintaining ageing assets.

“SRJ is placing itself at the forefront of this market with superior technology and agile customer service.”

First purchase order from Santos

SRJ also received its first purchase order from Santos Ltd (ASX:STO) for a bolting campaign, representing the first deployment of its product within the portfolio of Santos Assets.

The agreement covers an eight-week rental period, utilising multiple SRJ BoltEx products.

Strategically important

The work scope for the Qatar contract will be undertaken offshore as part of the Batch 2 Gallaf Project to complete a number of tie-ins before a shutdown.

The scopes will be starting from October 2021 and are expected to be completed within 4 weeks.

The initial orders, whilst immaterial from a financial perspective, are considered strategically important as it establishes SRJ as an integrity solutions provider for both Qatar Petroleum, which is one of the largest gas and LNG producers in the world and Santos, a major asset owner onshore Australia.
