Olam International Ltd, the Asian agricultural commodities trader, is to list its food ingredients unit in London later this year.
The company is also planning a listing in Singapore, but London will be the primary listing.
Although it has yet to set a price for the initial public offering (IPO) or indicate how much fresh capital it wants to raise, Olam’s chief executive officer (CEO) Sunny Verghese said it would be one of the biggest London listings in many years and could see the company gatecrash the FTSE 100 index.
A report on the Reuters news agency suggested the company would look to raise around £2bn through the IPO.
