Animoca Brands Corporation Ltd is today launching REVV Racing, a first-of-its-kind blockchain game, in which a participant or player can get real-time first-person control of a car in skill-based action arcade automobile racing simulation.
The blockchain game opens to the public with the Alpha Inaugural, a tournament held from August 11-17, 2021, with a prize pool of US$150,000.
It is the newest play-to-earn title in the REVV Motorsport metaverse of racing games and is a milestone in Animoca Brands’ ambitious plan to develop blockchain-based games that have the quality, look and feel of traditional video games.
In REVV Racing game, cars are non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and all play sessions are registered on blockchain but the set-up of the game is similar to the 3D car racing games, which is familiar to millions of gamers all over the world.

REVV Racing
REVV Racing, which is being built on the Polygon blockchain system, is in its initial version and is still undergoing extensive development and testing.
The game is launching its public alpha version with a seven-day competitive event named the Alpha Inaugural, a tournament held on August 11-17, 2021.
According to the company, Alpha Inaugural will see 1,000 players take home prizes as they compete for the fastest times using their REVV Racing car NFTs in a traditional first and third-person view racing game with complete control of their cars on track.
The company will award prizes to the winners in REVV tokens based on the approximate exchange rate for US$ and REVV after the completion of the seven-day event.
Unlike traditional video games, which are provided to users on a licensing basis and game publishers retain ultimate ownership of all content, NFTs used in blockchain-based games are owned by players, allowing to have digital property rights in their games.
Holders of NFT cars in REVV Racing are free to do anything they want with their NFTs, such as selling them on a marketplace for money, transferring them to friends, or using them in other supported games.
