Veris Ltd (ASX:VRS)’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Aqura Technologies, has secured a new agreement to provide managed services support for BHP's West Australian Iron Ore (WAIO) accommodation village entertainment networks across nine sites.
The contract is valued at $1.4 million and will see Veris provide managed support services over a three-year period.
Ultimately, the agreement continues Aqura’s roll-out of internally developed “as a service” capabilities in specialised content access network solutions, which is built upon Aqura’s market-leading expertise in large-scale entertainment networks.
As per the contract, Aqura's in-house team will provide managed support services for the village entertainment network and Wi-Fi access across BHP's WAIO village accommodation rooms and public areas.
"Recognition of Aqura's capability"
Aquara chief executive Travis Young said that the engagement was a significant recognition of its capability and skills in the delivery and efficient operation of large-scale networks and further solidifies the company’s strategic transition to a product and service-based business.
"This engagement continues a highly successful relationship supporting BHP's In-room communications and entertainment solution (IRCES), which saw Aqura upgrade over 12,000 rooms to provide high-quality connectivity access for their workers when they are away from home.
"We are proud to continue supporting BHP, which has further shown its commitment to local businesses with this three-year engagement to ensure the IRCES network continues to deliver reliable and cost-effective access for many years to come.”
The contract
The latest award leverages the significant internal investment undertaken by Aqura, which was named International Mitel MiCloud Flex Partner of the Year in February thanks to its leading-edge content access network as a service solution.
Besides supporting camp networks, Aqura specialises in the design and delivery of large-scale managed Wi-Fi, distribution networks, free to air TV and network management platforms that integrate in a bid to provide a seamless user experience.
The Veris subsidiary has significant experience in providing high-performance technology solutions across industrial wireless, enterprise communications and next-generation internet of things (IoT) verticals, which are critical for organisations as they bring their business into the digital age.
