Sensyne Health PLC (AIM:SENS, FRA:DSH) (LON:SENS) said it will deploy its machine learning expertise in an Oxford University-led quest to find new asthma treatment using artificial intelligence.
Called MORSE, the three-year project will focus on uncovering new drug targets for people with severe forms of the debilitating lung condition.
Specifically, researchers are looking to help those that do not respond to the current standard of care and where other existing regimens are “less effective”.
The work will be led by Dr Timothy Hinks from the world-renowned Oxford University Respiratory Medicine Unit.
His team plans to carry out genome sequencing of those with treatment-resistant asthma to understand why they may not respond to mainstream treatments.
Sensyne said it will apply its machine learning expertise and analytical tools to assess the complex genetic, phenotypic, and electronic patient record data sets for the Oxford University.
