Thor Explorations Ltd (TSX-V:THX, AIM:THX, OTC:THXPF, FRA:T2X) said it has discovered a “Bridge” mineralization during further drilling near the southern Makosa Tail zone at its Douta Project in Senegal.
The 1,600-meter (m) program, which targeted a previously untested gap between Makosa to the north and the Makosa Tail, is being called Makosa Bridge.
The test results for the bridge zone indicate that gold mineralization is developed within sheared sedimentary and gabbroic host rocks over the strike length, connecting the Makosa Tail and Makosa.

Drill testing of the Makosa Bridge was conducted on seven drill sections which were spaced 200m apart.
Some of the highlighted drill holes from the Makosa Bridge area included: DTRC206 9m grading at 2.39 grams per ton (g/t) gold from 54m; DTRC235 8m grading at 2.48g/t gold from 31m, DTRC238 7m grading at 1.22g/t gold from 33m, as well as 3m at 2.88g/t gold from 77m and DTRC245 10mgrading at 1.27g/t gold from 56m.
At the Makosa Tail several infill holes were completed to further test the continuity of the mineralization.
Results from the Makosa Tail zone were as follows: DTRC208 4m grading at 4.67g/t gold from 41m, DTRC210 11m grading at 2.26g/t gold from 37m and DTRC223 3m grading at 7.47g/t gold from 69m.
"The initial drilling results from the newly discovered Makosa Bridge prospect are very encouraging. Importantly, the results have established that continuous gold mineralization is developed over a strike length of nearly 7.5km extending from Makosa Tail in the south to Makosa North,” said Segun Lawson, president and CEO of Thor Explorations in a statement.
Lawson went on to note: “From these reconnaissance drill results it appears that the Makosa system is developing in scale and Makosa North is not yet closed off to the north. We are looking forward to receiving the last set of results aimed at extending Makosa North, after which we will be working towards a maiden resource at Makosa."
