Aramco, the world’s largest oil producer, amassed US$155.8bn of first half revenue as it produced 11.7mln barrels a day during the six months ended June 30.
In its second-quarter results, Aramco (which is also referred to as The Saudi Arabian Oil Company) reported US$47.17bn of net income in the first half, up from US$23.22bn in 2020, thanks to higher crude oil prices.
For the quarter, it reported US$25.5bn on net income up from US$6.6bn in the corresponding period last year. The company generated some US$56.5bn of cashflow from operations in the first six months of 2021.
Aramco is maintaining its dividend outlay at US$18.8bn for the second quarter, to be paid in the third quarter.
“Our second-quarter results reflect a strong rebound in worldwide energy demand and we are heading into the second half of 2021 more resilient and more flexible, as the global recovery gains momentum,” said chief executive Amin H. Nasser.
“While there is still some uncertainty around the challenges posed by COVID-19 variants, we have shown that we can adapt swiftly and effectively to changing market conditions.”
He added: “We continue to move forward on a number of strategic programs, which focus on sustainability and low-carbon fuels, maximizing the value of our assets, and advancing our downstream integration and expansion journey.”
