Catenae Innovation PLC (AIM:CTEA, FRA:NZS0) (AIM:CTEA) has won a contract from Shetland Space Centre, the satellite launch site and ground station on Britain’s most northerly island, as part of its renaming as SaxaVord UK Space Port.
The AIM-listed company will help design a digital dashboard to enable SaxaVord to monitor live satellite operations remotely from anywhere in the world.
Using data captured and aggregated from multiple sources including NASA, the European Space Agency and SaxaVord's own systems, Catenae's data visualisation technology will power a series of interactive dashboards to enable the space port to measure and monitor the performance of their ground station equipment and the satellites they connect with.
The newly named SaxaVord plans to build and operate a satellite launch site in Shetland, while continuing to run the satellite ground station on the isle of Unst that is already in operation.
The UK Space Agency recently identified Unst as the most suitable location in the country for the development of a satellite launch site.
SaxaVord is working closely with the local community and planning authorities on the next steps.
Catenae said the revenues from the order are not significant, but chief executive Guy Meyer, who has a small shareholding in SaxaVord and made the introduction, said: "We are delighted to have received this order from SaxaVord and to be at the forefront of supporting the UK space industry.
“The order affirms the company's strategic approach to the development of our technology portfolio, to ensure that it is fit for purpose not just for COVID-19 and other health-related solutions, but also for deployment across multiple sectors.”
