Talon Metals Corp has provided an update on its ongoing exploration program at the Tamarack nickel-copper-cobalt project, saying that it has expanded the pool of massive sulphides in the CGO West area.
The junior resource company recently discovered a thick pool of mineralization, drilling 13.88 metres of massive and semi-massive nickel-copper mineralization on the property.
Drilling has intersected an aggregate of 9.63 metres of mixed and massive sulphide around 100 metres east of another hole previously reported at 13.92 metres grading 6.70% nickel equivalent or 17.86% copper equivalent.

Talon also reported five new drill holes that all hit accumulations of nickel-copper mineralization, including two thick intersections of mixed and massive mineralization just east of the pool found in the above discovery hole.
Highlights from those results included 3.13 metres of nickel-copper mineralization starting at 179.14 metres, and 11.66 metres of nickel-copper mineralization starting at 191.1 metres, with an aggregate of 9.63 metres of mixed massive nickel-copper mineralization.
The new drill holes in the CGO West area indicate a potential strike length to the pool of massive sulphide of at least 130 metres, Talon told shareholders.
"We are excited to continue expanding the 'pool' or potentially 'pools' of high quality massive sulphides in the CGO West area,” Talon’s vice president of exploration Brian Goldner said in a statement.
“Our use of Bore Hole EM (geophysics) is allowing us to 'see' where massive mineralization is most likely to extend so that follow up holes are drilled with more precision, rather than as blind step-outs from the last drill hole. This significantly reduces the time, effort and cost it takes to delineate this new exciting area,” he added.
Talon is continuing to drill in the CGO West area with the aim of defining the size of the newly discovered mixed and massive nickel-copper mineralized body.
